To Fred Gmitter’s family and friends,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Fred’s passing. He made an outstanding contribution to the International Society of Citrus Nurseries (ISCN), sharing scientific knowledge in a way that was accessible, practical, and valuable to nursery professionals.
I remember Fred’s 2017 visit to Australia with great fondness, when he joined us as keynote speaker at our congress in Mildura. His presentations were insightful and stimulating, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company over lunches and dinners during the event.
I was also intrigued to learn that Fred had attended Woodstock in 1969, alongside 460,000 others, and to hear his reflections on that extraordinary occasion.
Fred will be greatly missed by all of us at ISCN.
Regards
